v2.0B Beta Build Released. Also, an explaination.


Hello there, fellow playtesters and melons. This is ChaoticNight07 here, your friendly neighborhood aspiring game developer.
First of all, I'd like to apologize for the four months I was inactive from itch.io as that time, I was dealing with many personal emergencies ranging from an important internship (which I completed and I am grateful for), employment issues, and at times, my mental health taking a dip. I will reassure you that despite whatever life threw at me, whether it be financial or anything life throws at you, I won't give up development of this wonderful game I work on by myself and my team. Thank you all for your continued support for Rinoa Quest, and I am sure Rinoa herself is also pleased with the progress.
Other than that, even during my four month hiatus, I was still able to brainstorm a list of many ideas. Some of these range from dungeon designs to the next part of the story in where our heroine and her rag-tag band of comrades may soon have full access to the seas. As our friend/fellow playtester Swordy pointed out, I may have missed a couple details including softlocks. Sometimes, I even realized I could be experiencing scope creep. Another idea I once had was initially encouraging the player having to swap characters for level up progress. Turns out after many playtests, I scrapped that idea many months ago and switched to having back row characters also earn EXP. Initially, I also had some of the enemies later on in the story to be a bit too strong and some characters are left underleveled. Maybe trying something unconventional can be a detriment at times, especially with different playstyles in the Adventure RPG genre.
And to address a couple issues, I did release a new build of the beta for Rinoa Quest based on the unseen development progress and hopefully, I can reach the part of the story where there will be more freedom for the player which was what I planned for after Rinoa obtains the SS Keyboat, the ship. In the meantime, here is the link to the closed beta v2.0B. If anyone would like to become a playtester, please notify me for I want to be able to give this task to the ones I feel are right. For then, I will share you the passcode to the page.
